Sarah Jessica Parker has become one of Hollywood’s most iconic women since her debut as Carrie Bradshaw in sex and the city in 1998, and with Hocus Pocus 2 set to release on September 30 and sex and the city spin off And just like that currently filming for Season 2, SJP isn’t slowing down anytime soon.

As a 57-year-old actress, businesswoman, wife, mother and fashion icon, SJP has received many questions about her beauty and health over the years.

Parker has pursued more “natural” aging compared to what’s normal in Hollywood today, with experts believing she’s done “minimal work” and her natural gray hair nearly broke the internet earlier this year .

So how did SJP manage to lead such a busy and successful life while maintaining such good health in her late 50s? In 2011, Parker talked about following the Hampton diet, which is known as a combination of the Mediterranean diet, the Atkins diet, and the South Beach diet. However, there are not many sources that say she is still following this diet plan.

She takes care of herself

In vogues 73 Questions with Sarah Jessica Parker, it’s clear from the first few minutes that SJP knows how to enjoy her favorite things, especially when it comes to food. The interviewer asks her quick food questions, and SJP responds quickly while seated on her green velvet couch.

“What’s your favorite dish?” “Barbuto’s roast chicken,” she says. “What do you like on your pizza?” “Sausage, peppers, onions,” she replies. “What’s your favorite drink?” “Coca Cola.” “What is your favorite dessert?” “My sister’s brownies. And finally, “dark chocolate or milk chocolate?” “Milk chocolate,” she replies.

In a 2021 interview with Grub Street of New York magazineSJP shares what she thinks about enjoying her favorite meals with her husband, Matthew Broderick.

“One hundred percent, eating food that I like is a luxury. In our house, we constantly pay attention to the level of enjoyment at the table,” she says. “I don’t mean to suggest that all of our conversation at dinner rates the meal, but we certainly enjoy it consciously.”

It seems Parker knows how to balance her love of food with her health, as she’s been vocal about her love of walking. In his 73 Questions interview, when asked, “what is your favorite thing to do in New York?” she responds, “walk”.

And in a 2016 interview with The Doctors, SJP said of her beauty secrets in her 50s, “I walk, I live in the city. I walk a lot. So far, that’s all I’ve had to do. time but I also live in a house with four or five flights of stairs. And I’m kind of in shape.”

She makes cooking a pleasant experience

In her interview with Grub Street, SJP highlights how much she loves to cook. When talking about what she made for dinner earlier in the week, she says, “I used a recipe from Julia Moskin, and I made soup with the recipe for matzo balls from Joan Nathan. I love those two writers; I love their whole story. They’re people I go to all the time for recipes. I have my Fannie Farmer cookbook, which I’ve had since I was I’m 18. It’s super old fashioned. It’s probably super old fashioned, but I like it because that’s what I knew.”

Parker also mentions that she and her husband like to save food and use it to cook lots of things from scratch. “We make chicken broth here all the time. We freeze it and we like to use it in our rice,” she told Grub Street. “We save everything here. Matthew saves every parmesan crust. If we have prawns, we always try to make broth with the shells because it’s so good and smells amazing. We always save the lard fat. We have the fat from a Spanish ham Matthew bought for my son for Christmas, which we saved to cook.”

In a November 2021 Instagram post, SJP shares how much she loves cooking with a video of some kind of tomato concoction simmering on the stove. She says in the caption, “A short break from filming, the rare opportunity where my husband doesn’t use all the burners, my daughters don’t cook and I have it all to myself! We all want to get our hands on the Thermador. X, SJ.”

She eats a big breakfast on busy days

Research has continually shown that eating a healthy, protein-rich, nutrient-dense breakfast can help improve metabolism, and while SJP doesn’t always start her day with breakfast, it seems she finds at less time to refuel before busy shooting days.

“I have weird eating habits. I don’t usually eat breakfast unless I’m filming, and when I’m filming, I have a massive, crazy, full breakfast. When I’m home and going work alone, I’ll get up really early and just have a coffee,” she told Grub Street.

She loves wine and cocktails

“I drank Invivo X, SJP Sauvignon blanc, my own wine. We drink wine, but I still like a cocktail,” SJP told Grub Street. “To be honest, I really like a Cosmopolitan. I don’t know how to make them good, but I genuinely like them.”

Parker’s love for wine is evidenced by the success of his wine collaboration with Invivo Wines, called INVIVO X, SJ.

She sticks to a cup of coffee

With someone as busy as Sarah Jessica Parker, it’s no surprise she’s a coffee drinker. She tells Grub Street: “I drink Nespresso pods or — are you ready for that? — Nescafé instant coffee. It’s like I’m in Greece. If I was in Miami, I could go to Little Havana for a Cuban coffee. Sometimes I make Cuban coffee. I have the sock for that.

Despite being a coffee lover, SJP still limits herself to just one cup a day. “I like to make coffee at home, even if I only drink a cup in the morning. If I drank it all day, I’d be a mess. I’d be like a whippet.”

With all these healthy habits, it’s no wonder Parker looks gorgeous at 57!
